                         The Staff and Trustee Situation

Thrangu House Buddhist Centre is currently managed by a charitable trust—The Thrangu Rinpoche Trust. A recent reorganisation of the trustees of the Thrangu Rinpoche Trust has increased the number of the trustees to 6 (see page; ‘staff and trustees’, for details), and has put in place Mr Reg Milne as chairman. Decades of experience in property and development has given Reg a keen eye for detail in all aspects of land and property acquisition and building. Reg was originally involved at the beginning of the monastery project in 2004,  as advisor to Mrs Pat Barki, the original director of the project. Now that Pat Barki has left, Reg has taken her place as director, a new monastery committee has been formed, and together they are in overall charge of the project as it now stands in its second phase. Financial figures and other data outlined on the next page have been provided by Reg and his architect, Mr Aubrey P. King. Reg has been instrumental in searching for potential sites and property; he is naturally kept up to date on much of the major property developments and opportunities in Oxfordshire due to the nature of his business. Having assessed the monastery project in detail at recent trustees’ meetings, the trustees have given the project their full approval, and are totally supportive and ready to assist, ultimately directed by Reg.
Thrangu House Buddhist Centre is currently directed on a day-to-day basis by Lama Karma Wangyal, and managed administratively by the secretary, Kathy Eason, and treasurer, Stuart Tett. These three people make up the staff of Thrangu House. They have been working closely together towards realising the monastery project, and have already visited potential sites and properties. With Lama Wangyal’s enthusiasm and the diligence of the staff, the project is steadily developing.
